A National Self-Storage Network, Digital From Day One
OkBox is a French self-storage operator building a national network, 23 centres to date, around a firm conviction: storage built for the way people live today has to be digital from the ground up. Not a traditional model with technology added on afterwards, but a business designed around a single, uninterrupted digital journey, from the first online enquiry through to the moment a customer opens their unit.
OkBox has begun rolling that model out across the first six centres equipped with Sensorberg One Access, the access infrastructure that makes it work.
Customer-First, Not Tech-First
At OkBox, everything starts with the customer, and customer needs never stop evolving. That is what pushed the company to build a genuine end-to-end digital journey rather than layer technology onto a conventional operation. The result is a fully fluid path: online booking, site access and unit opening, all with 24/7 availability. Followed to its logical conclusion, that same thinking leads to completely autonomous centres.
“Digitalisation isn’t an option for us. It’s one of the foundations of the model and of the customer experience.”
— Alexane Tremblaye, Network Director, OkBox
One Set-Up, End to End
OkBox deployed the complete Sensorberg One Access set-up: electronic unit locks, automated opening of entrance gates and sectional doors, access control, and the One Access App for customers. Six centres are equipped so far, with more of the network to follow.
Together, the system lets a customer book a unit, enter the site and open their box from beginning to end, with no staff intervention at any step.
What Changes for Operations
This is where the model earns its keep. OkBox can open sites with no one on site, which cuts operating costs significantly. Customers get genuine 24/7 availability, at any hour and with no constraints. And that simplicity of access feeds directly into both occupancy and customer satisfaction, giving people a self-storage experience as flexible as they now expect.
“We can open sites with no one on site, which lightens operating costs considerably. Our customers get real 24/7 availability, at any hour and without constraints, and that ease of access drives both our occupancy and our customer satisfaction.”

Storage Was Just the Starting Point
OkBox is building itself as a national self-storage player: digital, high-performing and innovative. The conviction behind it is simple. The storage of tomorrow will be accessible everywhere and at any hour, without friction, with a real commitment to quality on every site. Access technology is what keeps that standard tenable as the network grows.

Why Sensorberg
Several factors converged. OkBox wanted a solution already proven in self-storage, with fast integration, which mattered when the goal is to move quickly. Just as important was the trust built through a close, reliable working relationship from the very first conversation. And finally, OkBox wanted to see for itself what the technology delivers in the field, not on paper.
“We wanted a solution already proven in self-storage, with fast integration, and we wanted to test it ourselves, to see what it does on the ground rather than on paper.”
— Keavin Ebene, Franchisee, OkBox
