Warsaw, April 2016. Europe’s leading Beacon software provider, Sensorberg, pulls in a seven-digit sum from international investors, including the Polish Private Equity Fund Garvest, at the start of 2016. This promising partnership has also accelerated Sensorberg’s entry into the Polish market.

The first German-Polish project is an exciting cooperation with the Polish multiplex cinema chain – Multikino. The cinema operator will implement Sensorberg’s Beacon technology and install Qpony´s beacons in all 33 locations, including all entrance areas, snack bars and in the movie theaters themselves.

Multikino initiated the project by approaching Sensorberg about its Beacon software, which supports companies in digitalizing business models and automating processes. As a Beacon software company, Sensorberg, offers the ability to unlock the huge potential which proximity technology presents.

The Multikino-app, now utilizing Sensorberg’s beacon ready software, currently has more than 100,000 active users and the number is set to increase. Sensorberg’s Beacon and campaign management platform is enabling the cinema chain to build and monetize on its own multi-location Beacon infrastructure.

How does it work?

Through proximity technology, push notifications are triggered in Multikino app via beacon transmitters installed in the cinema. These messages, for example, include marketing campaigns, promoting discount offers and coupons; however, they will be displayed only on the smartphones of users who have downloaded the beacon-enabled Multikino app and activated Bluetooth. Multikino uses Sensorberg’s Beacon infrastructure software as a complete package, consisting of the beacon software that is compatible with apps and the beacon and campaign management platform.

The basic requirements for every successful beacon-based campaign – whether for advertising, service, or data analytics – are a beacon-enabled app, a beacon and, as the case may be, content. The complete beacon infrastructure software package that Sensorberg offers allows marketers to build up and capitalize their own multi-location beacon network.

A Beacon network connects brands, advertising agencies, location owners and service providers, enabling beacon infrastructure capacities to be shared and monetized. Sensorberg supplies the software need for such beacon networks, allowing users in a secure and stable way to create and profitably market their own proprietary network through app, beacon and content sharing.

The Sensorberg allows the cinema chain Multikino to plan and implement successful beacon-based campaigns as well as profitably rent its beacon assets to other brands and marketers.

The long-term prospects of the project are to increase the attractiveness of the app for customers as well as for brands and service providers. Multikino’s goal is to build and monetize on a large-scale network for all cinema locations and to enable others to securely access it.
